HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! Thanks for being my
Hey everyone! We are the mother daughte

Our Story

So, it all started back in 1965, when mom was born... haha just kidding, I won`t take you back THAT far, even though that`s where our story actually begins. My mom and dad are both from the same small town in Mississippi called Lucedale. Growing up, I can`t tell you how many stories I've heard of relatives making something: costumes, wedding  cakes, crocheted blankets, Christmas ornaments, furniture, paintings, clothes, pottery, gardening. Both sides of the family were constantly making something or getting themselves into some sort of crazy over-the-top project. So, it should come as no surprise, when my parents had my brother and I, we got ourselves into all kind of crazy projects too. Every school project, costume or birthday party was an absolute production. When I was in junior high, my mom and I joined the National Charity League, a mother daughter charity organization that supports local charities and also has league events for its members. We quickly became the go-to people for decorating the events BUT we always had an extremely tight budget since NCL is a charity organization. I think this is one of the things that really helped us grow creatively. It helped us learn what parts of an event are worthy of splurging and which you can get for a more affordable price.
So now, here we are. I am an elementary art teacher. Mom is a (medical technologist by degree) cake decorator. We both love planning events and decorating so we decided to finally take the plunge and create this blog to share all of the things we've learned over the years. Finally, an over-the-top project that we can share with all of you! We will be sharing new party themes every week on here and our instagram @the_party_haus. We hope to incorporate products and techniques that anyone could do at their own party! We truly hope that you all enjoy the parties as much as we do!
